Sustainable Company: Ikea

Ikea does all it can to be environmentally sustainable in all aspects of the business, some things it does are very public and some not so much but whatever they do they have the environment in mind.

The company source close to 50% of its wood supply from sustainable foresters which is used to make all the furnishings and wooden products that Ikea manufacture, 100% of the cotton Ikea use is from farms that meet the Better Cotton standards, which mandate reduced user of water,  energy and chemical fertilisers and pesticides.

You can see proof of Ikea’s commitment to being environmentally sustainable when you go to their stores, Ikea currently has more than 700,000 solar panels powering its stores they plan to be running of 100% renewable energy by 2020.
